Aquarium Exhibit Tour
A guided tour of all our exhibits both upstairs and downstairs including our 38,000 gallon featured Dining tank, Tower tank, J tank, and Stingray Reef Exhibits. Learn fun facts about the 100 species of fish, reptiles and invertebrates that call the Aquarium their home. The Aquarium is home to more than just fish! We have an entire exhibit dedicated to rainforests.
Classroom Programs:
Includes admission to Stingray Reef and stingray feeding!
TEKS based education programs perfect for schools!
* Aquarium tours, lunch or Kemah Boardwalk ride wristbands can be added to any package for an additional charge.
Preschool Move & Groove:
Our youngest animal lovers will learn how animals move around their habitats; such as fish, snakes, birds and mammals. This fun program includes songs, dances, live animals and a visit from our mascot, Sharkey!
Coral Communities:
Participants have the opportunity to learn all about coral, coral reefs, the many different creatures that live on coral reefs, and how these creatures form an ecosystem and interact with each other. Includes an activity on how a coral reef ecosystem works!
Coral reefs are one of the most diverse habitats on the planet! In this program, students learn all about coral and the amazing sea creatures that rely on it for survival.
Rockin' the Rainforest:
Students will learn about the 4 different levels of rainforests, what animals live and thrive at each level, how these animals have adapted for survival in the rainforests, and other interesting facts about each animal! Includes 2-3 live animals for participants to see up close.
The Aquarium is home to more than just fish! We have an entire exhibit dedicated to rainforests. Students learn all about the layers of a rainforest, meet some of the animals that live there, discover their unique adaptations and learn more about how they can make a difference in conservation.
Radical Reptiles:
There are more than 10,000 species of reptiles in the world and scientists discover almost 100 more every year! Reptiles are found in rainforests, deserts, and even your own backyard. In this program, students learn about the different types of reptiles, learn what adaptations these animals have to survive and meet 2-3 live reptiles up close!
Squid Anatomy Dissection:
Each participant will receive a squid along with dissection tools. We dissect the squids together as a group and learn about each body part and what role these body parts play in order to keep a squid alive. Includes general squid facts.
There are roughly 300 species of squid in the world – the largest weighing up to 1,000 pounds! In this program, students learn all about squid and their amazing adaptations with a hands-on dissection led by our knowledgeable educators.
Creature Feature:
Animal skulls can tell us many things about creatures and how they once survived in their natural environment. A few relatively simple observations of an animal's skull can tell us what the animal ate, whether the animal was predator or prey, and which senses were most important to the animal's survival. Meet 2-3 creatures and discover what their adaptations are!
Tour AND Classroom Program combo:
- $13.99 plus tax, 10 person minimum
Community Outreach Classroom Programs:
Let us provide your school or group of learners with an interactive, aquatic experience.
No buses? Not enough chaperones? Travel restrictions? The Kemah Aquarium’s outreach programs provide wildlife education and conservation awareness to students in the safety of their own classroom. We bring the materials, knowledgeable experts, live animals, and all of the fun directly to you!
All of our programs are available for outreach, including programs with live animals and our popular hands-on dissection– Squidy Anatomy (we’ll clean up the mess too!). Each 30-minute program is aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and can be tailored for all age groups and learning needs to support your student’s education.
